Ten Kitchen Table conversations were held in Alberta with a total of 132 participants. This included seven rural Alberta communities, the Edmonton Region, Growing Food Security in Alberta (GFSA) Community Facilitators and Steering Committee and dietitians attending a regional Dietitians of Canada meeting.
Seven Policies were submitted to the People's Food Policy Project. They include:
Equitable Food System
Food Education
Food Labels
Genuine Progress Indicator
Health and Safety Regulations
National Body
Small Farmers
These policies were derived through a comprehensive review of all ideas and suggestions generated during the Alberta Kitchen Table conversations. Members of the GFSA Steering Committee and Community Facilitators sorted these ideas into broad themes from which the policy submissions evolved. The process was described in a summary document which was submitted along with the policies. To view this document click here.
